Controlled Environment Agriculture

Walter Stark Consulting

Today’s Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), comprising indoor plant cultivation for food and drug related products, demands advanced climate solutions that optimize HVAC and dehumidification operations for reduced energy consumption and maximum crop yields.

At Walter Stark Consulting, we work with cultivators to create optimum climate-controlled conditions that support strong crops in CEA facilities.

Our proven CEA track record began with our first facility project in 2014. Since then, all our projects reflect our ability to help effectively leverage each cultivator’s “unique recipe” and critical metrics, ranging from irrigation rates to lighting watts. Our goal is to help deliver high performance and energy-efficient climate control.

Our Philosophy

Countless combinations of variables comprise a recipe for a successful crop. Some combinations may be more energy efficient, while others may improve crop outcome. One of our goals is to help the grower achieve a perfect combination of both.

Working with a grower, engineer or contractor, we help optimize the climate control portion of their recipe by showing how humidity, temperature and canopy ventilation affect vapor pressure (VP) and vapor pressure difference (VPD), which are the ingredients managed by their indoor climate control system.
